It’s August! Both the month and Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chen’s new baby girl’s name. In a post, on Facebook of course, the proud parents welcomed their daughter to the world with a heart-felt letter. And what did the letter to baby August have to say? Check out the post and what the new (second time new) parents had to share with their daughter!
The couple started their letter by explaining that they had written a similar one to big sis Max. When now-toddler Max was born in November of 2015, Zuckerberg and Chen wrote to her (and yes, they totally realize that a baby is waaaay to young to understand their magical words — it’s for later on) about the world they wanted to see her grow up in.
Sure, the Facebook CEO and his doctor wife aren’t exactly your typical parents. Aside from the oodles of money they have, Zuckerberg is much, much more than just the head of some social media company. So the Facebook impresario and his wife aren’t your standard mom and dad. That’s okay. The letter to baby August is filled with the same sort of adorable wishes that we’d all want for our kiddos.
This time, the couple didn’t talk about what they wanted for their daughter way off in the distant future. They wrote about her childhood, “The world can be a serious place. That’s why it’s important to make time to go outside and play.” Instead of zooming out in front of a screen or constantly checking in (on Facebook), Zuckerberg wants his daughter to read Dr. Seuss and invent her own stories, ride a carousel with big sis Max and, “run as many laps around our living room and yard as you want.”
Aww! Congrats to August’s proud parents.
