You love your kids. Seriously. You’d do just about anything for them. And that’s why you drag your little pop-up folding chair out to the frost-covered soccer field at 8 a.m. on a frigid Saturday morning just to watch them run up and down the field and possibly kick the ball. Yeah, you’d totally be up for a mid-game nap. But what would the other soccer moms think? Well, they might give you a big ol’ round of applause.

On this Thursday morning: I give you MY NEW HERO: This soccer mom at my kid’s last game. Whilst all the other moms stood on the sidelines with great concern and worry and volume: this hero laid her body down on the ground, her head down on her purse, and her jacket over her face – and napped. Every once in a while, the sideline would wake her and she’d raise her arm and say: yay. I love her. Her entire existence said: I’m showing up for my kid. But I’m not gonna pretend I’m not exhausted about It. TO WOMEN WHO FREAKING REST WHEN THEY’RE TIRED…. Let us know them. Let us raise them. Let us be them. I would like to formally nominate this Soccer Mom Hero as the President of the Women Who Have Run Out Of Effs To Give Club. I will be Secretary in Charge of Meetings. There will be no meetings. I salute you. #OOFClub

Mama, blogger and author Glennon Doyle Melton spied a mom doing what we all dream of — cat-napping the morning away at her kiddo’s soccer game. Melton recently posted a pic on Instagram of another mother sleeping on the sidelines of her child’s soccer game, writing, “On this Thursday morning: I give you MY NEW HERO: This soccer mom at my kid’s last game.”

She went on to add, “Whilst all the other moms stood on the sidelines with great concern and worry and volume: this hero laid her body down on the ground, her head down on her purse, and her jacket over her face – and napped.”

Hey, sometimes a mom just needs to rest her head and nap. We’re also giving it up to this tired mama who is doing something we all fantasize about — taking care of herself.

Have you ever napped at your child’s sporting event? Tell us in the comments below.
