Red Tricycle: Your community recently voted you “Most Stellar Sports Class” – what do your customers value most about your business?
Elliott Cortez:  Our customers love the mom and pop, grassroots aspect of Elliott’s Classes. I am there almost every day, teaching classes, offering advice, and chatting with the grown ups.

RT: What do you want people to know about your business that they don’t already know?
EC: Our Kids In Bloom pre-school alternative! We offer a play based program which introduces children ages 2 – 4.5 to the concept of separation in a nurturing environment while promoting their natural development.

RT: How did your business get started and what was the motivation?
EC: I wanted to create a place that was success based, where children could play and learn without being critiqued., where kids could be kids! When I was teaching at another gym, a group of moms approached me, asking if I would ever want to branch out on my own. My answer was- of course! They helped me find a space, and the rest is history.

RT: Tell us, what do you start your morning with: 1. coffee 2. tea 3. mimosa 4. water 5. all of the above.
EC: Water.

RT: What is the most awesome thing a customer has ever done for you?
EC: The most awesome thing a customer has ever done was help me find a space to start my own business, and believe in me.

RT: What is your biggest pet peeve as a business owner?
EC: Inefficiency of both energy and time.

RT: How do you keep your stress levels down?
EC: I keep my stress levels down by gardening and farming.

RT: What’s your secret superhero power as a business owner?
EC: Efficiency!

RT: Tell us, what is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (as a parent or business owner)?
EC: For me to stay loyal to what I believe.

RT: How about the worst piece of advice you’ve ever received?
EC: To franchise.

RT: Is there a special offer you’d like to include for Red Tricycle readers?
EC: We are offering early registration pricing now for our Kids In Bloom pre-school alternative. We will continue to offer that early registration pricing after the offer has ended, to any Red Tricycle readers!
