Hosting Thanksgiving is no easy feat, especially if you’re running around after your own little turkey 24/7. Luckily, when it comes to T-Day take outs, New York really delivers. Whether you want to skip the veg prep, outsource the appetizers, farm out the pies or ship in the entire event, this is a judgement-free zone and we’re offering plenty of ideas and resources guaranteed to make this turkey day a whole lot easier — and more enjoyable — for the entire family.
The Perfect Bird
Stuffing and basting the turkey while the family plays touch football is no fun. Play hooky yourself and let someone else do the leg work. This year, Chelsea Market’s neighborhood butcher shop, Dickson’s, is offering fully-cooked rotisserie turkeys complete with gravy and stuffing. This is in addition to the smoked birds that sold like hot cakes last year. The 12-14 lb centerpieces are the same Amish-raised turkeys sold in their fresh section. They are dry-brined and roasted to perfection. Why stop with just the bird? Dickson’s is also offering pre-cooked sides like their sweet potato casserole with pecan streusel as well as cranberry-apple sauce. Pick up is at the Chelsea Market location or items can be shipped for a fee.
