Katie Johnson - Enjoy a Hidden Splash Pad

It's not easy staying cool in NYC during the summer, especially with a little one who is not yet walking and is not super comfortable in water. However, we found the perfect spot - the terrace at the Museum of Natural History. It has a huge flat area  with a few inches of water covering the whole thing, great for my kiddo to crawl and splash around. There are also geyser fountains that shoot up, fun for the more mobile ones to run around and get soaked. The surrounding shady grassy areas and picnic tables and chairs are a great place to have lunch or a quick snack while drying off. You can also go straight into the museum and spend some time with the giant mammals and dinosaur bones if you want to make a whole afternoon of it!
