Unless you work in Times Square, it can be easy to forget that NYC is a major family tourist destination. The city’s hotels, however, do not, and that’s good news for both resident and visiting clans. Whether you’re planning a staycation, researching a fantasy birthday experience or want some out of town kids to get the white glove treatment, these spots go out of their way to offer over-the-top amenities and other goodies for junior guests. For a hipster cool getaway

Walk up and down Wythe Avenue and you may be shocked at the little hotel district that’s developed on the street. Of all the hotels there, however, it’s The Williamsburg Hotel that’s got our vote for family friendliness. For starters, the property offers plenty of connecting rooms for families traveling together. Du’s Donuts and Coffee (the artisanal Mexican Hot Chocolate donuts are divine) is right down the block and then there’s a decadent afternoon tea served Friday through Sunday that delighted even a tween who experienced it during a recent tasting. Finally, word on the street is that there will be a pool on property next summer which may just make this spot the ideal staycation destination.
