Even if you missed the Mermaid Parade (it was June 17, and a pretty soggy affair), there’s still plenty of reasons to head to seaside fun spot Coney Island. In addition to the Cyclone celebrating a landmark birthday (90!) with a free boffo block party, you’ll also find new rides, new eats, new art — and all the old sun and sand favorites, too. Click through to see what’s happening on, and along, the boardwalk!

To Celebrate the Cyclone

The big news at Coney Island for 2017 is that the Cyclone, Luna Park's iconic wooden rollercoaster, is turning 90 this year. (Whether you take a birthday spin on the nearly century old ride is up to you.) The park is celebrating with a free block party featuring Brooklynite Fabolous, Power 105's DJ Will and Angela Yee of the Breakfast Club, as well as the Harlem Globetrotters. Plus: face-painting, photobooths, tattoos, giveways and more.
