How many times have you desperately wished that someone else could take that middle of the night diaper-changing shift? Too many to count probably, which is why an on-demand diaper changing service sounds like a dream come true for just about any parent of kids still in diapers. What started off as a prank has actually turned into a very real, very awesome service for parents.

British parenting website, Childcare.co.uk, published a hilarious April Fool’s prank to advertise a new on-demand diaper-changing service. In other words, someone you can call to change that diaper when you just can’t bear the thought of changing yet another one for the day. The joke part of it went out the window, however, when the company realized just how serious parents were about actually wanting the service.

The website was overwhelmed with responses from parents wanting to know more about the service, so Childcare.co.uk now offers the diaper-changing service. According to its website, “We originally came up with the idea as an April Fool in 2018, but after receiving over 400,000 views on social media and being inundated with comments from people who thought it was genuinely a great idea, we’ve decided to launch the service for real!”

Called “Nappy 999” (the British equivalent of “Diaper 9-11”), this new company will charge parents about £5—about USD $7—for the service to send a professional diaper changer to your door within 10 minutes. Pretty speedy, although still a long time to wait when you’ve got a hazmat-level blowout on your hands. The company is currently accepting applications for Official Diaper Changers, who of course must have childcare experience and go through a background check. The company is optimistic that the service will be up and running soon.
