There are four words that can make you simultaneously cringe, laugh and maybe even dry heave a little when said together: Velveeta Peanut Butter Fudge. Mama, blogger and kind of rad recipe creator Katie Reed has come up with this concoction, and the internet is freaking over it. Yeah, right now everyone’s all about peppermint white chocolate snow-covered fudge and Santa hat strawberries. So go ahead and bake, cook and create those traditionally sweet treats. But you still need to check out what Velveeta Peanut Butter Fudge is. Seriously.
Okay, so Reed swears you can’t taste the Velveeta in this recipe. Which is a really good thing. Hey, we’re not knocking the liquid gold that plenty of people think the cheese food product is. But, in fudge? And with peanut butter?
Reed also says that she’s been cooking up this recipe for years. On her “It’s a Mother Thing” Facebook page she writes, “The first time I made this recipe was for a craft show I attended about ten years ago.” And what happened? She goes on to add, “It sold out in less than an hour, and people were absolutely amazed when I told them the secret ingredient!”
Hmm. If you’re not entirely sold on the Velveeta-PB combo, maybe it’s time to whip up a batch. For the holidays, of course.
