There could soon be one less home goods store in your neighborhood. Pier 1 Imports will be closing locations across the country.

Home furnishing retailer Pier 1 Imports has just announced that it will be closing up to 145 stores in the near future. The announcement comes on the heels of 30 stores that closed earlier this year. The new closures would still leave over 800 locations open across the country.

The company will begin with closures in 45 locations where leases are set to expire and go from there. The hope is that Pier 1 will reach its financial goals without the need for additional closures, but only time will tell. There is no word yet on which locations would be closing or if there will be any closing sales or price reductions ahead of the closures.

Earlier this month another home furnishings giant Bed, Bath and Beyond reported that it would be closing 40 locations.
