Pink may be a pop star extraordinaire now. But the singer admits that she struggled with self-confidence issues in her earlier years. And she doesn’t want her kiddos to suffer from a lack of confidence. Check out what the celeb had to say about her number one concern as a mama.

During the premiere of Apple’s On the Record: Pink: Beautiful Trauma, the singer (and mom to Willow, 6, and Jameson, 9 months) told Us Weekly, “Because of what I went through being a girl and being a kid and being a little bit different from everyone else, my biggest fear is self-esteem for my kids.”

She went on to talk about how she didn’t have a hefty sense of self-esteem as a child. The result? No boundaries for Pink. In her younger years she admits that she didn’t have boundaries and, “gave away my power over and over.” And she doesn’t want her kids to repeat the mistakes she made.

Of course, Pink also admits that you, “can’t borrow somebody else’s knowledge, you have to buy your own.” That means her kids might have to make mistakes before they develop the confidence that she hopes they’ll have.
