The Inspiration
Co-founded by Cara Piscitello and Joy Rubey, ACME Farm + Kitchen launched in Washington in 2011, after the two working moms of toddlers decided there was an easier way to get fresh, local food to their homes. Portland area deliveries started in January this year with the ACME Farm + Kitchen Locavore boxes, which feature seasonal produce, locally-raised proteins and a variety of cheese, fresh pasta, bread and eggs paired with recipes to make dinners simple and healthy. Think Kale Quesadillas with Spiced Pinto Beans, Shrimp Curry or a Cauliflower Soup with Brown Butter Sunchokes. ACME Farm + Kitchen boxes stand out with their commitment to local farmers and artisan producers, so families feel good about supporting their local food community. Unpack your delivery box, add a few staples and seasonings from your pantry, and you’ll be totally prepared when the kids ask, “What’s for dinner tonight?”

Go Beyond
Now, meal options are even more exciting with the launch of ACME Farm + Kitchen’s Beyond Boxes. New in March, the Beyond Boxes are designed to complement the Locavore Boxes, featuring unique local goodies that might not fit in the regular Locavore Box rotation. Beyond Boxes regularly contain fresh eggs, a bread, two seasonal fruits and a dairy item, along with specialty items that can be used for snacks, breakfasts and lunches, like bread mix, cookie dough or hummus. Since there’s always a few surprises in the Beyond Box, you’ll be constantly inspired for new meals while discovering some great new local products!

Got a little chef in the family? Kids will love being able to help you unpack your Beyond Box and whip up something delicious in the kitchen. You might find fresh pasture raised eggs, local blueberries, pancake mix from Sweetheart Bake Shop, Willamette Valley cheese or lemon-ginger soda syrup from RAFT. (How about homemade lemon-blueberry pancakes for that slumber party this weekend?) Around holidays, you might discover even more fun treats within your Beyond Box, like a locally-made barbecue sauce for your 4th of July bash, or candies by QUIN.
