You were a kid once, so you know that there’s only so much learning that can take place from reading a textbook.

So when you want to learn beyond the classroom to really grasp concepts like how anemones create communities or what engineering and LEGO bricks have in common, head to OMSI. They’re turning up the summer fun with classes and camps that begin where science class leaves off. Here’s why their summer programs make the grade:

  • They offer over 200 summer camps and classes (whoa!) in Earth and Life Sciences, Animation, Robotics, Astronomy, and more. Kids will get their hands dirty in tidepools, hunt for fossils, hike in the Redwoods, create animated films, build LEGO-bots, and make friends with a chicken. No two days are ever the same.
  • Taking summer camp to a whole new level, campers at OMSI hang with and learn from real scientists, filmmakers and designers, thanks to partnerships with places like Pacific Northwest College of Art and NW Documentary.
  • OMSI’s accessible summer programming is geared to kids in kindergarten through 12th grade, with camps for kids in 2nd to 12th grades taking place in several locations across the PNW, including OMSI’s two residential camps, in Newport and Fossil where students sleep away for the week.
  • Good to know: OMSI members always get a 20 percent discount on camps and classes.
