Alpenrose Dairy’s 52nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt is back April 19th, the Saturday before Easter, with new start times. The day’s excitement begins at 10:30 a.m. for kids ages 3 - 5 and 12:30 p.m. for ages 6 – 8. Chocolate eggs, stuffed animals and other fun treats will be hidden across the Alpenrose grounds. The world famous Easter Bunny will also be on site to meet all egg hunters. This free event is hosted by Alpenrose on the pastoral setting of the 98-year old dairy and has become a special tradition for families since 1962. Alpenrose officials are encouraging egg-hunters to arrive early since parking is limited. Alpenrose Dairy is located at 6149 SW Shattuck Road in Portland.

The Alpenrose Dairy Easter Egg Hunt is, by far and away, one the biggest and most anticipated Easter egg hunts around with different age groups, staggered start times and boatloads of eggs filled with candy and prizes. Arrive super early as parking spaces are limited and get ready for the egg scramble when the whistle blows.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 26th 2014. The 6th Annual Barn Dance & Barbecue, presented by Whole Foods Market with support from Organic Valley, and One PacificCoast Bank begins at 4:30 pm. We’ll have great food, Widmer Brothers beer and Lady Hill wine, a silent auction with Portlander’s favorite goodies, and of course live music and square dancing. The event kicks off at 4:30 with the Scavenger Hunt and tours of the award-winning Sauvie Island Organics farm. Families will search the farm for everything from pollinators to edible flowers, while learning about how their food is grown. A winner chosen at random will be handsomely rewarded. Don’t forget to snap some photos and enter Portland Nursery‘s Fun Farm Photos contest. Dinner, courtesy of the soon-to-open New American, will be served at 6.
