“Friends of Tryon Creek (FOTC) is non-profit organization working in collaboration with Oregon State Parks to provide programming for the community. Tryon Creek State Natural Area is an Oregon State Park located in SW Portland, 10 minutes from downtown. It is 675 acres of forest with 16 miles of trails for all abilities. We offer volunteer opportunities, school field trips, stewardship events, summer and school break camps, and adult education. Friends of Tryon Creek intentionally welcome all to enjoy, learn and cherish this unique urban forest.
The first program FOTC offered was summer camp in 1973. There has been changes throughout the years, but a few things remain the same, kids are hiking the same trails, sitting on the same log to eat lunch, and telling their secrets to the same Red Cedar. We hope to be able to continue this legacy for years to come.
Please come and visit us, enjoy this amazing resource within the city limits. The Nature Center is open 9- 4 daily, a volunteer front desk host will great you and help find a trail that fits your needs. We have a gift shop for the nature lover in your life. We would love to see you!”
