What is Monster Jam?
Monster Jam is a monster truck competition with racing and tricks to make any monster truck fan’s jaw drop. The Monster Jam trucks are hand-crafted machines driving— and sometimes flying—in competitions that include the donut, wheelie, and free-style contest. In addition to the larger Monster Jam Trucks, your family will enjoy tricks and races by Monster Jam speedsters and ATVs.

Monster Jam Athletes
Young driving enthusiasts (and those young at heart) may light up when they get the opportunity to meet the athletes behind the wheel! Monster Jam athletes are both men and women with the mental dexterity and physical stamina to be able to control a 12,000 lb. vehicle at speeds up to 70 mph.

Monster Jam is one of the only sports in the world today where men and women are equals in competition. The motorsport athletes that are competing in Portland include eight world-class athletes including the very first female Digger driver, Krysten Anderson. She is the 4th Anderson to drive Grave Digger in competition—what a legacy!

The Trucks & Drivers
Each of the monster trucks are larger-than-life, works of art that fit right in to the Monster Jam family of ‘beasts.’ The thrill of the competition is complimented by all of the extreme details that make Monster Jam trucks unlike other monster trucks.

Grave Digger, a flame and skull covered truck, is one of the many different designs that will wheelie its way to a hopeful championship win. It will have steep competition from the other seven Monster Jam trucks including: El Toro Loco driven by Armando Castro; Monster Mutt Dalmation (complete with a tail!) driven by Cynthia Guathier; Pirate’s Curse driven by Camden Murphy (2017 Rookie of the Year); Alien Invasion driven by Bernard Lyght; EarthShaker driven by Tristan England (Winner of Monster Jam World Finals 2017); Megalodon driven by Travis Groth; and Zombie driven by Tyler Groth.

How to Get to Monster Jam at the Moda Center
While the stars of the show—the Monster Jam trucks—arrive two to a semi, your route to the Moda Center may be a little bit different.

Public transportation is a great way to reach this venue. The Moda Center is located next to The Rose Quarter Transit Center, servicing red, blue, and green MAX lines, and the Interstate/Rose Quarter station, servicing the yellow line.

If arriving by car plan on using paid parking. The Moda Center boasts over 2500 parking spaces over the span of four parking garages and 2 parking lots. Cost of parking can range from $8 to $26 depending on the event.

The Event

There are three competition events spanning Sat. Feb. 24th and Sun. Feb. 25th and two pre-show Monster Jam Pit Parties. Those that purchase Pit Party tickets must also purchase event tickets for the competition following the Pit Party, the 1 p.m. event. The 7 p.m. show does not have a pit party available. Each show is approximately 2.5 hours long with an intermission included. Show tickets begin at $20 per seat.

The Pit Party

Monster Jam Pit Parties are the perfect opportunity to meet athletes, score autographs, and see the Monster Jam trucks up close. The $10 ticket price allows you to visit the arena floor prior from 10:30 a.m. to approximately 12 p.m. Attendees can then enjoy available concessions and find their seats for the 1 p.m. main event. There is a Pit Party on both show dates.

Pro Tip
Monster Jam gets loud! Ear protection is suggested for all, but highly recommended to help protect kid’s ears and help them enjoy the show. Earplugs work great, but can easily fall out of little ears. Ear muffs or sound-reducing headphones are great for children attending the show. The concessions at the event will have some ear protection available for purchase.
