Oregon’s turtles are rare, shy and hard to find. Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area is home to one of the largest populations of Western painted turtles in the Northwest. See these beautiful reptiles with the help of a Metro naturalist, who will have small telescopes for a close look. Learn about the natural history of painted turtles and why they are so rare.
