"We definitely look forward to slogging through the mud each year, in search of the ultimate pumpkins on Sauvie Island, but another favorite, can’t-miss activity on our fall bucket list is the Apple Tasting at Portland Nursery. Around 60 varieties of apples and pears are cut into bite-sized samples you spear with little toothpicks. There are also fresh-pressed apple cider demonstrations, continuous live music and kids’ activities, like tiny pumpkin-painting, face-painting and a scavenger hunt throughout the nursery. On our way out, we load up with bags full of our favorite apples and pears to take home."
