Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at McMenamins
McMenamins welcomes all ages to their annual Irish celebrations at a handful of their locations. Entertainments include free live Celtic music, Irish dancing, roving bagpipers, balloon twisters, face painters and leprechauns handing out candy. Fri. Event Details.

Don’t Miss the All-Irish Cultural Society St. Patrick’s Day Festival
The All-Irish Cultural Society’s St. Patrick’s Day festival at the Ambridge Center will immerse your family in a wide array of Irish culture. Expect authentic Irish pipes, drums, a sing-along and step dancers. Children will also enjoy their own special activities, including face painting, a coloring contest and a professional puppet show. Enjoy Kell’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival
For the 26th year, Kell’s Restaurant & Pub will show Portlanders a great time at their multi-day St. Patrick’s Day Festival, arguably the largest of its kind in the Northwest. In keeping with tradition, Family Day will be on Sunday, March 19. Activities include lots of live music, dance performances, face painting, arts & crafts and more. Fri., Sat & Sun. Event Details.

Don’t Miss the Sellwood-Moreland St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival
This family friendly event kicks-off with a 5K fun run. At noon don your Irish green and join hundreds of people and parade through Sellwood-Moreland, featuring Sellwood Middle School Marching Band, bagpipers, Portland Fire & Rescue’s big truck, motorcycle police, children with decorated bikes and wagons and more.

Children of all ages enjoy an old-fashioned carnival including a cakewalk, face painting and games galore. Under the heated tent, listen to live music and enjoy food from PIPS Donuts, PDX Sliders, Matt & Mamere’s and Big Ben’s. Or for a more traditional take, enjoy shepherd’s pie and sausage rolls. Join the Shamrock Fun at the Portland Aerial Tram
After completing the Shamrock Run (or after cheering-on your loved ones) enjoy some family time at the Portland Aerial Tram. There will be arts and crafts for the kids from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a family portrait in theTram photo booth. Relax in the kid-friendly library area. All crafts and activities are free. Sun. Experience the Spring Awakening
On March 19th, Sultanov Russian Ballet Academy will return to Lincoln Hall with a selection of brand new dances. Excerpts from classical ballets, such as Coppelia, La Source, Walpurgis Night and Fairy Doll will share the program with new classical and contemporary works choreographed by the creative faculty. Attend the Shamrock Run
St. Patrick’s Day brings the masses to downtown Portland, where 35,000 attend the largest run/walk in the state. Choose between a 5k, 8k, 15k, half marathon run. Not a runner? Walk in the Shamrock Stride, a stroller- and dog-friendly 5k fitness walk. All ages can get in on the action in the 5k and 8k runs as well as the walk; the 15k and half marathon are only open to ages 13 and older. For shorter legs (ages 10 and younger), there’s also the Leprechaun Lap, a 1k (0.6-mile) run/walk. Sun. Event Details.
