Just when we thought we’d exhausted all of our wintertime indoor activities, Play Boutique comes to the rescue with a sweet new indoor play space. Play Boutique’s newest location, which officially opened Monday, February 20, is located in Beaverton (their first location is in Lake Oswego) and is a much bigger and sophisticated play space, according to owner Kelley Peake. Kelley has been working toward opening the new location for months and the joy and enthusiasm she holds for Portland families is apparent when we recently spoke to her. Kelley expressed that she couldn’t be more thrilled to offer Beaverton families a new spot to bring their kids, especially with these wet and dreary winter days dragging on and on. So go ahead Portland families, rejoice in the fact that we finally have a new indoor play space to explore, and a pretty cool one at that.

Drop-in Play:
Just like their first location in Lake Oswego, the newest Play Boutique play space is all about providing a fun, safe, and totally cool play area for the kids. Their flexible drop-in play hours means that there’s no need to plan weeks in advance — just merely show up when the mood strikes and you need to get out of the house. And, while parents must stay on the premises, mom and dad can kick back at the cafe while the kiddos run, jump, and get the wiggles out. According to Kelley, the Beaverton location will have a larger cafe complete with wi-fi and computer plug-in stations, which for computer-toting mamas is a total necessity.

Cost for Drop-In Play:
Play Boutique offers a variety of pricing options for every family’s level of commitment and budget.
•$7 per child for drop-in play
•$60 for a punch card for 12 visits (3+ free). Must use the punch card within three months of purchase.
•$50 for one month of unlimited play for one child ($35 for the second child and $25 for the third child)
•$365 for one year of unlimited play for a family of three

Learn and Grow Classes:
Play Boutique’s Beaverton location will offer the same family-favorite Learn and Grow Classes as their Lake Oswego space. Each class, led by trained educators and teachers, provides the kiddos of all ages with an enriching and memorable experience. Their enrichment classes (for kids newborn to eight years old) provide specific skills such as reading, dance, fitness, music and baby sign. They also offer the ever-popular Peake Academy, which is all about giving kids (ages one to six years) school readiness skills. Other popular classes include Mommy & Me classes, reading and math readiness, Mommy Cook with Me, a variety of art programs and much more. Insider tip: registration for the learn and grow classes are required about two weeks in advance. If there aren’t enough participants, the class will be cancelled so be sure to call ahead of your scheduled class to ensure it’s not cancelled.

Other Events and Activities:
Play Boutique offers a bevy of special rates and activities for Portland families so be sure to check their website for the most current information. Past family-friendly events have included a Valentine’s Party, Superbowl activities, and some awesome Jedi-training.
