When it comes to feeding hungry kiddos, every mother fits the term Power Mom. But these women are taking the power up a notch by doing awesome work in the food industry. They are helping to feed hungry kids, creating a honey alternative to save bees, inventing a new toddler sippy cup and making it possible for moms to breastfeed while away from home. Click through the slideshow to see how these women are powering up the food industry.

Cassandra Curtis, Founder of Once Upon a Farm Baby Food

Like so many moms, Cassandra Curtis wanted to make the baby food that she’d feed to her first daughter, Divinaka. However, that goal was tough to attain while being a working mom. She attempted to buy high-quality food at the store, yet at the time, all that existed was shelf stable baby food – nothing like Cassandra was making at home. Thus, Once Upon a Farm – the first refrigerated baby food company – was born. This San Diego, CA mom put her knowledge of nutrition, childhood development and High Pressure Processing (HPP) together to create fresh baby food that was unlike anything on the market. Most of the ingredients are sourced from local farms, and everything is organic and non-GMO. The ten baby food varieties (Magic Velvet Mango, anyone?) are available in select stores nationwide and can be shipped directly to your door.

Proudest Professional Accomplishment: “I was selected as one of the top ten finalists at the 2016 InnovateHER Conference, where I got to fly to Washington D.C. and participate in rounds at the White House on Women and Innovation. I also got to pitch my business to a panel of expert judges though the Small Business Association.”
