The Property Brothers have a brand new property on the market, but it’s not a house. Drew and Jonathan Scott’s children’s book has just dropped and HGTV fans of all ages will want to add it to their collection. Read on to learn more about this cute story from our favorite builders!
In Builder Brothers: Big Plans brothers Drew and Jonathan won’t let anyone tell them that they can’t follow their dream of building their greatest ideas. The twins save money, design and finally construct their perfect plan, despite a few hiccups along the way. The colorful book even comes packed with a DIY project kids and parents can complete together.
To celebrate the release of their first book, the Scott brothers are going on a 12-city book tour and launching an exciting contest for schools across the country. Anyone can enter the contest, which will give one lucky school a Property Brothers-style makeover of its library.
“Parents, teachers kids, anybody can submit,” Drew tells PEOPLE. “They’ll be sending photos and a little story about their space, and then we’ll be picking one to win that prize and we’re gonna come and make it over.”
The duo recently gave the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem Learning Lab in New York City a makeover using the kids designs as inspiration. “It was hilarious because it had unicorns, a Kit Kat couch and all these cool outside the box ideas,” Drew told PEOPLE.
“We couldn’t find living unicorns anywhere, so we had unicorn pillows,” Jonathan explained. The brothers held the first reading of the book at the Learning Lab, and as Drew explained, “The kids absolutely loved it.”
