Here at Red Tricycle, it’s not about the candy. Nope, it’s the wigs, sequins, and face paint that really get us going on Halloween. Every year we are wowed by all the jaw-dropping homemade costumes out there; many are made by Red Tricycle readers! We’ve collected our favorite ideas below—flip through the slideshow below for some spook-tacular inspiration.

We want to hear from you! Show us an amazing ensemble you put together — just send a photo to our National Editor (gabby@tinybeans.go-vip.net), along with your child’s name and age, and we’ll add your creation to our story!

To Infinity and Beyond

Rebecca Carroll is a DIY master. Last year her daughter wanted to be Buzz Lightyear so she made this entire costume from scratch. No detail was left out: the bottom of the boot says ANDY and the jetpack has working LED lights. She documented the steps here.

If you’d like to showcase your DIY kids costume, send a photo with your kids name and age to our National Editor (gabby@tinybeans.go-vip.net) and we’ll publish our favorites.

Let us know in the comment section below what your kids are wearing this year for Halloween!
