Aquarium of the Bay

Experience the wonder of San Francisco Bay at Aquarium of the Bay, where 20,000 local aquatic animals are waiting to greet you. Located on San Francisco’s iconic waterfront, Aquarium of the Bay is home to sharks, jellies, river otters, and more. Boasting two magnificent tunnels totaling 300 feet and holding 700,000 gallons of water, guests can get up-close-and-personal with sharks, sturgeons, eels, giant sea bass, and swirling schools of anchovies – to name a few. Get a hands-on experience in our Touch the Bay gallery, where you can touch bat rays, skates, and even sharks! Be sure to visit our North American river otter habitat, where our three resident river otters spend their time romping, swimming, sleeping, and playing around. With a focus on education and conservation, Aquarium of the Bay is the only aquarium dedicated to the diverse marine life and distinctive ecosystems of San Francisco Bay and its watershed.
