San Jose’s most famous holiday lights and Christmas party is open every day and even on Christmas Day! From 9 a.m. to midnight you can cruise the attractions including the Lima Train, a Victorian Village featuring an animated Nutcracker Suite exhibit and Santa’s Photo Den. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees and Christmas houses decorated by San Jose schools, community groups and businesses. Opera for Families: “The Magic Flute”
“The Magic Flute”, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is a fairy tale set to music. It’s the story of a princess and her pursuer, who takes along a magic flute as he journeys with a sidekick to save the princess from peril. Highlights from “The Magic Flute” will be performed by Program Curator and pianist Efrat Levy, soprano Amy Foote, tenor Sergio Gonzalez and bass Jason Sarten. This interactive educational experience will spread opera’s magic among children of all ages. Go Stargazing on a Fall Night Hike
Amazing stargazing! Using binoculars, a spotting scope, and telescopes, we’ll study the face of the moon and learn more about constellations and the night sky. Binoculars will be provided, or bring your favorite pair! Weather may prevent us from actually seeing the moon and stars, but we will still have fun and learn about constellations, the features of the moon, and astronomical myths. Sat. Event details.
