Clown Around with the Pi Clowns
Silliness is very serious business for the Pi Clowns. A company dedicated to knock-about physical comedy, these performers don’t tell jokes. They embody them with robust and timeless antics. Blending mime, theater, acrobatics, juggling, and improvisation, the Pi Clowns deliver delightful and original clown vignettes. Pi members have worked as performers, teachers, and technicians for world-class institutions from Cirque Du Soleil and The New Pickle Circus to the San Francisco Circus Center and Teatro ZinZanni. Watch Out! It’s Shark Week!
Celebrate these jaw-dropping animals with a full lineup of special events including hands-on activities, presentations, feedings, and more. Don’t just watch Shark Week on TV; experience it! From July 22-30, hear shark talks by education naturalists, and come see shark eggs and feel shark teeth at the Shark Lab. Watch huge sevengill sharks swim just inches from your face, reach out and touch a live leopard shark, take part in a Feed the Sharks tour or join a special 11 am Behind-the-Scenes tour available for a limited time. Things are about to get wild at the Berkeley Playhouse! That’s because Tarzan is swimming into town. This Play Will Make Your Purrrr
What’s a cat to do? In Disney The Aristocats KIDS, Madame’s jealous butler Edgar cat-naps Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside. Luckily, Thomas O’Malley and his rag-tag bunch of alley cats come to their rescue! This fun musical, based on the Disney film, features many of your favorite characters from Thomas O’Malley the Alley cat to Amelia and Abigail the bold Geese Sisters. Fri.-Sat. Event details.

Roll to an Epic Bicycle Show
Shiny Side Up is California’s Premiere Bicycle Show, celebrating it’s 10th annual show this summer. The bike show is open to all bicycles from classics to customs so ride whatever you love. On Saturday, ride up for the “pre-ride” that rolls through the streets of San Jose, meeting up at 2 p.m. at San Pedro Square. Sunday is the main event will feature hundreds of bicycles of all kinds, bicycle related vendors, a swap meet, food trucks, BMX stunt shows, raffles, music and more. Ditch Saturday Morning Cartoons for Nature
Take a hike! Yeah, we said it. It’s the best way to check out Filoli’s incredible nature preserve which consists of seven-plus miles of trails that criss-cross six different California native habitats. Nature education docents from Filoli will guide these two-hour, afternoon tours through the preserve, discussing plants, flowers and wildlife along the way. Feel the (Summer of) Love at this Festival
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the San Francisco Summer of Love with a free family day in the park! Singer MaryLee Sunseri will lead a folk song sing-along, and The Puppet Company will present its version “Puff the Magic Dragon,” a family favorite with a modern twist!
Other activities will include crafting flower power headbands, printing DayGlo posters, stringing love beads, balloon twisting & face painting, water balloon games, and giant bubbles! Bring a picnic lunch, or buy a meal at the food trucks, and join in on the fun. Sat. Event details.

Bring Your Little Folkies to Explore Nature
Calling all your little ones! Bring em’ to the Audubon Canyon Ranch for a day of music and nature exploration. ACR and Little Folkies are teaming up to inspire young families to sing, play, and connect to the land. Come explore rhythmic dance and movement, musical games, and nature activities with your tots. Irena, of Little Folkies, will perform a 40 minute set of spring themed songs. After the concert, join ACR staff in nature discovery activities including sensory and pond life exploration. Sat. Event details.
