Oakland’s cultural art community gathers to experience street artists, food artisans, craft makers, performers, musicians, dancers, live painters, DJ’s, poets, literary events and more on the first Friday of the month. Fri. Event details.
UC Elkus Ranch Sheep to Shawl

San Mateo County Fair
The nine-day San Mateo County Fair represents a celebration of our community’s talent, interests, innovations and rich agricultural, and artistic heritage. Highlights of the fair include the animals including the kangaroos in the Aussie Kingdom. Cheer on the racing pigs. Visit the 4-H & FFA barn. And of course, there are carnival rides! Sid the Science Kid: The Super-Duper Exhibit
This traveling exhibit based on the award-winning PBS KIDS TV series will be at the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose for the summer. Kids will step into Sid’s world and become “science kids” on this amazing scientific adventure as they investigate and discover everyday questions around Sid’s home, at school in the Super Fab Lab and on the playground. Using scientific tools and thinking to learn about simple machines, the laws of motion, magnetism, air power and the five senses, kids will have a blast in this interactive exploration of fun. Conifers of the Canyon Hikes and Activities
Come hear volunteer Nature Guides tell stories about trees, find out who lives in the trees and then spread out your picnic blanket and have a picnic under the trees!
