What do carrots, watermelon, kiwi, pineapple, sweet potatoes, cabbage heads, celery stalks, bananas and pomegranates have in common? They are all among elephants favorite foods. You can help spread the produce love in the elephant enclosure at the Oakland Zoo during this special event. The zoo will open its doors at 9 a.m. and distribute 250 tickets, free with zoo admission, to distribute fruits and veggies. Strollers aren’t allowed in the enclosure.
