You love pizza, they love pizza: but sometimes the wait for a table (or for the pizza) can seem like ages to a little kid. Enter John’s Incredible Pizza, a new complex in the NewPark Mall in Newark. It’s part restaurant, part arcade and part mini-amusement park, which means waiting is no longer the hardest part. Read on to get the scoop on why this should be your next destination dinner.
All You Can Eat
Admission to John’s Incredible Pizza includes access to the all you can eat buffet. Everything is made fresh and in-house in the kitchens, from the fried chicken to the salad and soup bar to the desserts. There are plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options, all clearly labeled. The centerpiece is the pizza station, which offers a huge selection of over 20 varieties of pizzas, from kid favorites like pepperoni, to monthly specials like loaded baked potato or chicken enchilada. The pasta station offers a variety of noodles and sauces so kids can make their own combinations. Don’t miss the spicy peanut butter pizza—it sounds offbeat, but it’s the favorite of the founder John, and for good reason.
There are five themed dining rooms, ranging from the kiddle friendly Toon Town local father-fave: the Hall of Fame sports-themed room complete with big screen televisions. If you’re looking a quiet and more intimate space, the cozy Cabin Fever room is the perfect fit.
Party Room & Party Packages for All
The dining rooms are separate from the party rooms, which can be booked for birthday parties and other events. John’s Incredible Pizza typical birthday party package includes a party host, buffet access, FunCard credits, and a visit from mascot IncrediBear. There are also different packages offered for school field trips, other group outings, and business meetings. There is even an Eat and Play tour available to all ages, where you get a behind the scenes tour of the facility and the opportunity to make your own pizza.
Oodles of Playtime in Fun World
The main play area of John’s Incredible Pizza, Fun World, is a brightly lit extravaganza of games, activities, and rides. Instead of taking tokens, all the games use FunCards which you can purchase and load upon entry. The majority of the games cost between 2-4 credits, about $0.50 to $1, per play. Many classic games like rollerball and bop em sit alongside the latest arcade games. There’s plenty of variety and John’s Incredible Pizza is constantly taking customer requests and bringing in new games. Don’t miss the mini bowling alley tucked away in the corner, or the four-person air hockey table!
Good to know: While most of the games at John’s Incredible Pizza are best for kids at least 3-years-old old, all ages are welcome (and kids 2 and under are free). There’s plenty to amuse toddlers and lots of space to roam, but keep your eye out for future plans for even more toddler-themed fun!
It’s hard to miss the amazing carnival styles rides like the Air IncrediBear, Bumper Cars and the Twister among the games. These rides are run by certified ride operators and add an extra thrill element to the experience. There are height requirements for these rides which means most of them are suitable for kids 5 and up.
