The Explorers Package
It can be hard to find activities for the whole family when traveling- or knowing if a particular outing is good for certain ages. The Explorers Package takes the guess work out of it. This brand-new offering from Pebble Beach Resorts is designed specifically for families with young children, staying overnight at the Inn at Spanish Bay. Right from check-in, your little ones will feel like the honored guests that they are! The staff has set up a pint-sized reception desk, where your young explorers will get a bracelet to let everyone know they’re a special guest and a scavenger map. Throughout your stay they can find the items on the map and upon checkout they’ll get to choose their prize for completing the hunt. The package also includes a special welcome gift in the room (spoiler alert: it’s some of the best cookies you’ll ever have!)

The Perks
For young explorers under the age of 12, the bracelet serves as their pass to a number of amenities at the hotel. Among them: free meals at two on-site restaurants, free tennis, free golf at the Peter Hay Golf Course, and free horseback trail rides. The whole family can- and should- take part in the offerings too. And if those aren’t enough to fill up your days, you can also sign up for add-ons like family passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with VIP access, golf lessons, or cooking classes.

The Inn at Spanish Bay
Pebble Beach is an easy drive from many places in the Bay Area, but you’ll feel like you’ve been whisked away to some exotic locale. And in some ways, you have been. The Inn at Spanish Bay is located within Pebble Beach, right on the ocean. You’ll have access to the sandy beach as well as onsite shopping and dining. Wherever you roam during the day, be sure to be back before sunset. One of the Inn’s most special traditions is the bagpiper who makes his way along the ocean-side of the property at sunset. His route ends at the main patio, where fire pits make for a cozy spot to unwind after an adventure-filled day.

The package starts at $495/night for a garden-view room and right now the offer is good through February 28th, 2015. In a place that synonymous with luxury, it’s a great deal. All activities are designed for parent/family participation. In other words, you can’t just drop the kids off for a trail ride while you go shopping (but should you need babysitting services during your stay, the hotel can arrange that too.)
