If the taste of raw cookie dough sends you into childhood nostalgia land, then you must plan a stop at DOUGHP (pronounced “dope”), San Francisco’s new cookie dough hot spot. Dishing out safe-to-eat cookie dough that you can nosh from a cone or cook at home, DOUGHP is everything your childhood self could dream of. Scroll down for the 411 on why you should take the kids there!

The DOUGHP Dough

Didn’t your mom tell you that eating raw cookie dough is a big no-no? DOUGHP solved that issue by removing the eggs and heat-treating the flour to make it safe for consumption. Bonus: they subbed in flaxseed for the eggs so that not only is the cookie dough eatable when you buy it but you can also bring home any leftovers (leftovers? what leftovers?) and bake it into real cookies.

Flavors for Days

Six different options are available each day on a rotating schedule. (Tip: follow DOUGHP on social media to find out what’s for sale that day.) The Original (chocolate chip) and This S’more is Hella Awesome (marshmallow fluff, graham crackers and chocolate chips) are mainstays on the menu. Other flavors include Oreo Fa’sho (cookies and cream dough), Caramel is Life (caramel pieces + sea salt + caramel popcorn) and Eminem (M&M cookie dough).

Vegans and gluten free folks, rejoice! DOUGHP has you covered with their #veganlyfe flavor that subs white beans and almond butter into the chocolate chip recipe. If they don’t have it at the counter, ask for it as they often keep it in the fridge.

How Much Dough?

A single scoop at DOUGHP will run you $5, a double $9 and a triple is $13. A flavored cone (try red velvet or fruit loops) will cost you an additional $1.50 and a straight-up sugar cone is 50 cents. Toppings like sprinkles, whipped cream, Nutella and Oreos are also available. The scoop size is very generous and filling—more than enough for you to share with your kid.

DOUGHP Delivered

SF residents can get DOUGHP delivered via UberEats, Postmates or GrubHub. Looking to send some DOUGHP love to your out-of-town family? DOUGHP just started shipping its dough all over the country and you can order it here.

The Scoop

DOUGHP rolled into San Francisco last month and has taken up residence in The Myriad—a market hall perfectly located at the intersection of the Castro, the Mission and Duboce Triangle. This hip warehouse building with roll-up windows offers ample indoor and outdoor seating. In addition to DOUGHP, you can find a hot dog shop, poke bar and Le Bread Xpress, the coolest vending machine that delivers warm-baked baguettes on-demand for $3. Kids of all ages will love the dozen or so pinball machines scattered throughout The Myriad—a great option while you are waiting for your eats to be made.
