Are you craving family-style Italian food? Take the entire family to Downtown San Francisco’s hidden family gem Puccini and Pinetti. The kids menu comes with crayons and coloring pages, which will keep wee ones busy, but what makes this venue very special for families is that kids can make their own pizza! Kids can be hands-on involved in the creation of their pizzas and dinner is more than a meal–it’s a creative experience. Pizza dough is brought to the table separately from ingredients and your lil top chefs have the chance to add sauces and arrange the toppings as they wish before sending the pie on its way to the oven.
If your kids’ culinary interest is peaked, and they’re curious about how the food cooks and is prepared, they can sit at the chef’s counter and watch the yummy prep in the kitchen. Your little one isn’t into pizza? The kids menu also includes grilled cheese, macaroni, and other kid-friendly pasta options.
P&P can be a great location to dine after or before the theater and if you mention you are a theater guest you get a complimentary Bruschetta plate. It is also a very convenient spot to take a break from Downtown’s shopping madness. P&P serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and price range is from $5 to $32. They also offer a lunch special where you can get a 3-course lunch for $18. Chef Richard Hodge’s signature dishes are Spaghetti Meatballs, Chicken Marsala and authentic Bruscheta. P&P’s fun kids menu, Italian comfort food, and reasonable can sometimes draw big crowds, but never fear–reservations are accepted!
