What do a saw, a typewriter, and a tuba all have in common? They never get the chance to play in front of an orchestra… until now! This April Fools’ Day weekend, join the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra for a fun-filled Family Concert showcasing some unusual instruments, and expand your idea of concert fare, SFCO-style. The SFCO’s Family Concerts feature fun-filled collaborations with local professionals and young musicians. These 45-minute presentations introduce classical music to listeners of all ages. Admission is free for all concert-goers. Seating is first-come, first-served, so arriving early is strongly advised. Doors open for seating 30 minutes before concert time. Showtimes and locations are as follows: 2 p.m. April 1, Noe Valley Ministry, 2021 Sanchez St., San Francisco; Noon April 2, Oakland Asian Cultural Center, 388 9th St., Oakland; 3:30 p.m. April 2, Burlingame High School Theater, 1 Mangini Way, Burlingame.
