The Skinny Behind the Meals
Started by Cele Wolman, a professional chef since 2001, Cele’s Meals opened its meal delivery service in January of 2010 in hopes of helping busy families answer that tough weeknight question, “What’s for dinner?” Understanding that not everyone has the time or desire to plan, shop and prepare healthy delicious meals at home, Cele’s Meals provides home-cooked, chef-prepared meals that are free of the preservatives, fat and salt typically found in restaurant food. And by offering meals that are “heat and serve,” Wolman hopes her customers will spend more quality time with their families as well as eat healthy. A win-win in our book!

How It Works
Go to celesmeals.com, click on “our meals” and check out the weekly menu, which lists four fresh meal offerings and one frozen option. Their process is simple—place an order based on the number of servings you want and Cele’s Meals will deliver the freshly cooked meals to your doorstep on Sunday evening. A large serving is designed to feed one adult and a small serving is designed to feed a child. Psst! Two large meals are usually enough for two adults and an additional toddler. However, if your kiddo is going through a growth spurt, order him or her a large serving. In addition to dinner choices, Cele’s Meals offers breakfast, lunch and snack options. From French toast and whole wheat banana pancakes, to meat and cheese lasagna and black and pepperjack burritos, to low carb soups and sausage, cheese and apple plates, order up a few extra meals and make packing school lunches easy peasy.

Once you place your first order, you will start receiving weekly emails from Cele’s Meals on Mondays. In addition to the dinner, lunch, breakfast and snack options for the upcoming week, view the nutrition info for each meal including calories, fat, carbs, fiber, protein and even Weight Watcher points.

Order Up
Since there is a four-day lead time for order fulfillment, orders need to be placed by Thursday at 9 a.m. for delivery on Sunday night. Each meal is labeled and it’s recommended that you eat the fresh ones first. (Wolman will even suggest an order on your invoice). Each meal is packaged in sturdy plastic, re-usable containers and the packages are machine washable, microwavable and freezable. The empties and delivery bags are picked up with your next delivery, so clean them out and help Cele’s Meals preserve our environment.

No Brainer!
For families who don’t want to log onto the website each week to order their meals, Cele’s Meals offers the No Brainer plan. Based on your personal preferences, a set of meals will be delivered weekly to your doorstep without the need for you to order. To sign up, either submit your first order manually with a note that you’d like to try the No Brainer plan or email Wolman directly at cele@celesmeals.com. Bonus: Sign up for the No Brainer plan and receive a 10% discount on your order every week. That’s the best plan, err no plan we’ve heard since having kids.

What About Diet Restrictions?
In addition to using locally sourced ingredients, Wolman frequents her favorite local produce store, Yakima Fruit Market in Bothell, where her family has been shopping since the early ‘70s. If you have food allergies, Wolman will happily try to accommodate you and does offer special diet menu options, great for those families following South Beach, Weight Watchers or Primal Blueprint diets. Psst! You can request alternative protein on any dish as well as vegetarian, wheat-free, dairy-free or gluten-free dishes.

Try and Save!
New customers who want to give Cele’s Meals a try can take advantage of the Try Us Out promotion and receive 10% off their first order. Just enter “FirstTime” in the promo code box of your shopping cart.

Eat This Now
Of course, their menu changes weekly, but we devoured (as did our kids) the spinach and artichoke stuffed sole with Italian roasted tomatoes and spaghetti, the Chinese 5-spice baked chicken with sautéed gai lan and vegetable chow mein and the steak with gorgonzola sauce, mashed potatoes and green beans almondine.
