With our abundance of trees and spectacular scenery, it’s no wonder challenge courses are popping up all over the Evergreen State. These aerial obstacle courses—think rope ladders, Indiana Jones-style bridges, cargo nets and speedy zip lines—are the perfect spots for adrenaline junkies to go wild. So round up your little daredevils and click, err, zip through the gallery to see our favorite challenge courses where you can clamber and swing through the trees on a heart-pumping adventure!

Adventura Aerial Adventure Park

Tucked behind Red Hook Brewery in Woodinville is where you will find Adventura Aerial Adventure Park. (Parents, we don’t have to tell you to climb first, do we?). This is a "challenge by choice" experience, which means you don’t follow a course. Instead, you play on a giant jungle gym 50 feet in the air—-scaling, jumping and swinging. But don’t worry, you don’t need to be athletic, you just need to have a sense of adventure!

Playdays
Ages: 10 & older
Minimum Requirements: Participants must be over 65 pounds to use the hydraulic zip line. Participants under 65 pounds can enjoy the rest of the aerial challenges.
Cost: $100
Time to Complete: Up to two hours playing up high, but you can come down at any time.

Good to Know: Kids ages 13 & under must climb with an adult. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated (you can buy one on site if you forget) and the instructors will haul them up for you. Plan ahead – Adventura often sells out up to 14 days in advance.

Bonus: Adventura partners with several local wineries and breweries in the area for special offers. For a grown-up adventure, enjoy the adventure park and then relax with a wine tasting and a meal. If you bring the kids, you can always hang onto your Adventura discount card and come back another day to enjoy a grown-up outing. And be sure to take advantage of their wine tasting partner of the day where you can get 50% off. Now that's a swinging deal!
