When you think of people who inspire children to succeed, Jay-Z might not be the first celeb who pops into mind. But he should be. Jay-Z’s empowering message was heard around the world, via the internet, of course. During his show at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio the rapper paused to speak directly to a 9 year-old-girl. And what did the super-star rapper have to say? Take a look at what Jay-Z did that caught everyone’s attention.

In a now-viral video of the show, Jay-Z is heard saying, “At this very moment, America is way more sexist than they are racist.” He goes on to add, “But you, young lady, you got the potential to be the next president of the United States. You believe that.”

Oh, but Jay-Z didn’t stop there. He kept right on inspiring when he performed at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, too. He might not have been speaking to a little girl this time, but his message still had a major impact. The Tennessean reported that the rapper said, “There’s a lot going on in the world right now.” Following this with, “But I just wanna say one thing: love will always trump hate.”

Rapper, mogul, dad and now motivational speaker. It looks like we all need to listen to what Jay-Z is saying.
