the scoop:

Load up your gear at the Anacortes ferry dock and board the ferry with your bicycles. After getting off the ferry, you and your fam will ride along peaceful Orcas Island roads (stopping in Eastsound) and then continuing on to Camp Moran State Park. The bike ride is far enough that you’ll feel like you accomplished something without it being too far for a small child to ride. Amenities include cabins with running water and heat, a lodge, dinner and breakfasts. While staying at the campground, enjoy the lake for kayaking and canoeing, go hiking, or just relax.

Rent a Pirate Pond Boat to sail on Lake Union Park's Model Boat Pond. These 39-inch pond boats are scale models of the R-Boat Pirate, which is on exhibit on our docks at South Lake Union. Sailing these miniature racing yachts is a great way to learn the basic concepts of sailing while enjoying time at the park. Pond Boat Sailing takes places Saturdays April-November.
