Emily Becci Floyd

Emily Floyd and her husband, Janar, started their digital record label, Undrgrnd Lvxvry three years ago. Since then, they’ve spent time mining Seattle for chillwave, soulful, underground talent when they’re not hanging with Emily’s son, Sebastian (6), and getting ready for baby girl, Sophia Louise’s impending arrival this fall.

Where she’ll be on a sunny day: Emily and Sebastian just can’t pass up the Highland Park Spray Park or the Georgetown Spray Park on a sunny day. But if you can’t find them there, it’s probably because they’re enjoying some froyo at Menchie’s at Greenlake.

Her must-have mom product: Beyond healthy, quick snacks that are good to go and hand sanitizer, Floyd’s gotta have tunes to listen to. They’re good for the soul and part of her family’s every day rituals.

The best thing about being a Seattle mom: The myriad opportunities to network within the music industry appeal to Floyd, as do the many arts-focused activities for kidlets. For a mom who believes in the importance of kids’ self-expression through music, art and technology, she knows Seattle is definitely the place to be.
