It’s no secret that kids grow like weeds. And it can be quite a chore keeping them in clothes that fit, let alone stylish clothes that fit at a decent price. Enter My Three Little Birds. This new children’s boutique not only specializes in upscale new and resale clothing, toys and accessories at reasonable prices, but includes an awesome play area so you can shop ‘til you drop with the Littles in tow.
How It All Began
The store is owned and run by Jennifer Young who is a longtime resident of West Seattle. Young loves the West Seattle community and wanted to be more involved in it. She also knows how hard it is to buy items for her three kids without putting a major dent in her wallet. Hence, the idea of My Three Little Birds (named after her three daughters) was born. Young’s goal was to open a children’s boutique that offered designer clothes, toys, and accessories at reasonable prices as well as name-brand resale items. A store that she herself would want to shop in and one that welcomed everyone from fussy babies and energetic toddlers to elementary-aged kids and adults. And we must say, Young has succeeded in this feat.
Inside this extremely organized, not too packed, and easy to shop store, you will find new clothing, shoes, toys, and accessories for newborns up to age 12. If you’ve ever heard of Doodle Pants or Electrik Kidz Binky Bandanas, then you already know how adorable and popular they are, but what you probably don’t know is that you can find these items (and so much more) here. The store also features items from Hooray Haroo, Minnie and Lola, Elegant Baby, Peaceable Kingdom, No Slippy Hair Clippy, and San Diego Hat Company.
In addition to new clothes, Young takes in gently used, high quality clothing. She is always looking for name-brand clothing that is clean and free of rips, tears, and odors as well as shoes, accessories and toys in good condition and working order.
The Scoop on Consigning
There is currently no limit to how many items you can bring in at a time. Young will try to go through your items while you wait, but if time doesn’t permit, you are guaranteed to hear back within a week. You can opt to either receive your money in store credit, which never expires, at 35% of asking price, or 30% of asking price in cash. Spring and summer items are accepted February through June; fall and winter items are accepted July through January.
A Special Play Area for Kids
It’s probably safe to say we’ve all been the recipients of an annoyed glance shot our way when our kids are acting up at the store. Well, fear no more parents. My Three Little Birds is the perfect place to bring the little ones because there’s a play area built just for them. So go ahead and browse the racks while your tots get their play on. When you’re done, the balloon or special treat will make your mini shoppers want to come here again and again!
Mark your calendars because soon Tuesdays and Thursdays will be your new favorite days of the week. Two special events are coming to My Three Little Birds: Cupcake Tuesdays and Shop Late Thursdays. Every Tuesday from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. come in for free mini cupcakes. While your kids indulge in a sweet treat, you can indulge in some undistracted shopping. And on Thursdays, during the summer months, the store will be offering extended hours to fit your busy schedule.
Good to Know
In addition to offering an awesome selection of merchandise, My Three Little Birds also offers free gift wrapping which is perfect for those of us who find ourselves shopping right before the party. Young also knows it can be daunting to shop with kiddos in tow, so if you don’t have time to try the clothes on, but find they don’t fit later, no problem. My Three Little Birds offers a 30 day return policy. Just remember to keep your receipt and bring back the items in the same condition you bought them in.
