Once your babe starts walking, he just don’t want to stop! But where can you take him to safely play? Many playgrounds can be intimidating to little ones who are just learning to walk, let alone go down the slide and climb up the stairs to the play structures. That’s why we did the legwork and rounded up eight parks where your toddling tyke can safely explore his or her newfound freedom. From toddler-friendly play sets to wide open spaces, click through the gallery to see our favorite spots to let the Littles play their heart’s out.

Ella Bailey Park

Ella Bailey Park is truly one of Seattle’s hidden gems. Tucked away in the Magnolia neighborhood, this park boasts a beautiful community playground for the new walker and stunning panoramic views of downtown Seattle and Mt. Rainier for the parents. The park also has plentiful grassy areas, picnic spots and pathways. And there is plenty of space for your toddler to explore while you take in one of the best views of the Emerald City.

Good to Know: Ella Bailey Park is a great place to watch the Fourth of July fireworks.
