PowerUP! Brighten your new year with an exciting afternoon exploring energy and the environment at Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center.

Explore hands-on exhibits and activities with Science on Wheels, including the hair-raising Van der Graaf generator, investigate energy in nature, explore how animals use insulation in the cold of winter, discover why trees can keep your home both cool and warm and conduct an experiment to see how carbon dioxide traps heat and more. Plus, make kid-friendly crafts demonstrating green power and the cool adaptations of winter animals, enjoy story time with a librarian from the Newport Way Library and play games and learn how to make your home more energy efficient with resources and giveaways from Puget Sound Energy
