Back in the day, major academic accomplishments—making the honor roll or basketball team, celebrating the first or last day of school—were spent shooting skee ball and eating mediocre pizza at Chuck E. Cheese’s. But Seattle’s modern kiddos have more… sophisticated tastes. If you’ve got big back-to-school accomplishments to celebrate in the coming weeks, treat your lil’ scholars at one of these local eateries (most of which, involve ice cream).
It should come as no surprise that nearly every table at this sparkly, modern Bellevue eatery is adorned with one of their signature (and appropriately named) Insane Sundaes. Some folks come for dinner first and enjoy expertly woodfired pizzas and simple pastas. Others come just for dessert. Regardless, you’ll want to allow about 15 minutes for the masterful sundae chef to create—and architect—your sundae: nearly a foot of ice cream, candies, baked goods and more sugar than you’d ever condone on a regular basis. You’ll never see your kids’ eyes wider than when the server brings this beauty to your table.
