If your kids are ready to crank their musical experience up a notch, Seattle has some rockin’ music schools you’ll want to get in tune with. From electric guitar, keyboards and drums to saxophone, vocals and ukulele—there’s something for every budding rock star. Read on for your all-access pass to seven chart-topping music schools.

West Side Music Academy

The Bass(ics): A smash hit in West Seattle since 1998, you’ll find West Side Music Academy in a green craftsman near the Junction. Owners Chris and Cami MacDonald and their great line-up of teachers give kiddos lots of musical experiences to choose from---private and group lessons, workshops, rock band summer camps, and vocal/instrumental jams. There are two recitals per year, plus summer gigs at West Seattle venues, including the Skylark Café. Check out Boomwhackers, West Side’s intro to rhythm and beat with lots of instruments that’ll make you shake, rattle, and roll.

The Beat: Bass, cello, clarinet, drums, flute, French horn, guitar, percussion, piano, saxophone, trumpet, ukulele, violin and voice are offered.

Band Camp: The Academy offers Rock Band Camp for ages 7 & up.
