Seattle Kids Weekend Events: April 26-28

With springtime celebrations in full swing, it’s a great weekend to get outside and explore the city! On our radar: a cultural celebration under the Needle, a healthy party for big and small kids, a family activity with awesome entertainment, an evening adventure in the park, a farm-tastic spring activity in Bellevue, and a carnival designed for little ones. Cherry Blossom & Japanese Festival
At this annual spring festival, families will enjoy exploring and experiencing the cultural roots of Japan through live performances, visual arts, hands-on activities, food, games, and a lively marketplace. Fri. – Sun., 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Seattle. Free. All ages. Event details.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day (pictured)
Celebrate Healthy Kids Day at several King County YMCA locations! Activities range from games, make-and-take crafts, and safety demonstrations to bouncy houses, healthy snacks, and pool time. Insider Tip: The first 100 kiddos (at each location) will receive a free t-shirt! Sat., 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Seattle. Free. All Ages. Event details.

U Village K.I.D.S.
This super-fun family event will feature lots of educational activities for kiddos as well a local expert resources for parents (and parents-to-be!). Kids can check out a real-life police car and fire truck and meet the folks who drive them, enjoy face painting and a balloon artist, boogie to the beats of Brian Vogan and his Good Buddies, ooh and ahh over the magic tricks of Louie Foxx, and rock out with The Not-Its! Owl Prowl
Whoooo is up there in the tree? Grab your flashlight or headlamp and go on a nighttime hike with a park ranger to look (and listen!) for owls and other nocturnal wildlife. Fri., 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Bellevue. $5 to $6. Pre-registration required. Ages 6 and older. Event details.

Sheep Shearing at Kelsey Creek Farm Park
This annual spring event will be loaded with farm fun (and we mean loaded!). See sheep shearing demonstrations, participate in hands-on farm activities, and enjoy tractor-pulled hay rides, animal exhibits, pony rides, inflatables, and much more! Sat., 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. MIPA Circus
