Seattle Kids Weekend Events: Aug 23-25

Even though summer is starting to wind down, there’s still plenty of fun to be had around the city! On our weekend roundup: a rockin’ show for tots, a happy hour for the whole fam, a huge playdate in the park, a fun run for all ages, a fab farm celebration, and an ice cream extravaganza. Also on tap: Dizzy’s 4th Annual Dizzybus Carnival will be loaded with family fun including games, bouncy houses, train rides, pony rides, face painting and of course, Dizzy’s Tumblebus. And if you’re looking for an old-fashioned country fair with fab food and entertainment, a supersized carnival, and a wild rodeo, be sure to check out The Evergreen State Fair (pictured) and take advantage of FREE gate admission on Thursday until 1:00 pm. Yee-haw!

Caspar Babypants at The Land of Nod
What’s better than an in-store concert? How ’bout an in-store concert to celebrate TGIF! Stop by The Land of Nod at U Village to enjoy a special in-store concert by our fave kindie rocker Caspar Babypants. Fri., 10:30 am – 11:15 am. Seattle. Free. All ages. Event details.

Family Happy Hour
Along with free activities for the kiddos like a fully stocked bubble bar and an interactive musical games show by local children’s entertainer Alleyoop, there will be delish food, plenty of beer for mom and dad and ice cream. Seattle Parks Great Day of Play
Hop, skip, or jump over to this health and fitness extravaganza for tons of family fun. Enjoy water and beach activities, 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, fitness demos and clinics, healthy food samples, free bike helmets and live performances by Recess Monkey and School of Rock.  Sat., 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Eastside

Redmond’s Great Day of Play
This family-friendly health and fitness event will feature a 3-on-3 basketball tournament and a fun run/walk for all ages. After the race, stick around for an awards presentation, live music and a yummy root beer garden. Fri., 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Redmond. $15 to $60. Pre-registration required. All ages. Event details.

Sunflower Celebration at Dr. Maze’s Farm
It’s opening weekend of the big 4-acre sunflower and corn maze and the new goat walk maze at Dr. Maze’s. After you solve the mazes, be sure to take a hayride, visit with the farm animals, and race in the bouncy rodeo plus take in the hilarious singing chicken show and check out the botanicals at the Farmstand. Fri. & Sat., 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Redmond. Free admission (costs vary for activities). All ages. Event details.

3rd Annual Ice Cream-O-Rama (pictured)
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! And this weekend, you don’t want to miss this annual ice cream extravaganza. Enjoy an afternoon of $1 tasty bites, live music and local entertainment including a free Caspar Babypants concert.  Sat., 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Snoqualmie. Free. All ages. Event details.
