Summer is in full swing and with it comes plenty of community festivals to keep everyone in your crew happy and entertained. This weekend’s lineup includes a popular party with tons of kids’ activities, a wild and wacky race on the water, a cultural festival with fab entertainment, a ride aboard our favorite blue train, an awesome block party and an adventure through the wetlands. Seattle

West Seattle Summer Fest
The biggest party of the year is hitting the streets of West Seattle this weekend. During the three-day festival, take in tons of vendor booths, arts and crafts, live music on multiple stages and yummy food from neighborhood restaurants. For the kiddies, there will be an awesome Kids Zone with carnival-style rides and games and lots of hands-on activities. Fri.-Sun. Event details.

Seafair Milk Carton Derby
At this wildly popular Seafair event, watch as nearly 100 milk carton boats race to the finish line or sink trying. In addition to the entertaining competition, there will be interactive displays and exhibits on shore as well as photo opps with the Seafair clowns and princesses, food booths and kids’ activities. Seafair Indian Pow Wow
Celebrate the richness of the Native American culture at this annual three-day celebration. See hundreds of dancers in full regalia and more than 20 drum groups, indulge in a traditional salmon bake and enjoy a wide array of Native American arts and crafts including jewelry, carvings, intricate beadwork and artwork. Day out with Thomas: The Friendship Tour 2017 (pictured)
Calling all Thomas the Train fanatics! Take a 25-minute train ride with a full-size Thomas the Tank Engine, meet Sir Topham Hatt and enjoy live storytelling, music and lots of activities with Thomas and his friends. Fri.-Sun. Event details.

Lakemont Block Party
You don’t want to miss the fun that will be had at this fantastic block party. Canoe Mercer Slough
Explore the beautiful Mercer Slough Nature Park by water. Park rangers will lead this three-hour canoe trip from Enatai Beach Park into the heart of Mercer Slough Nature Park.
