What do you get when three moms come together to spread music into the lives of their own children as well as kids in the community? You get Studio3Music — a Kindermusik program that offers parent-child classes incorporating music and life lessons for ages newborn to 7.
The local mom trio — Analiisa Reichlin, Allison Butler and Beth Fetty — loved the Kindermusik concept but wanted to do more with it. In 2007, they opened a studio in Redmond Town Center with a full curriculum of music and movement classes that not only expose children to the benefits of music but also teach parents about child development and how to socially engage their child with others. The 15-week semester (offered twice a year) is taught by Kindermusik-certified teachers and incorporates everything from singing and dancing to interactive play.
The program starts with parent-child classes for newborn to age 3. For ages 3 and up, drop-off classes focus on pre-literacy and cognitive skills plus creative play. Along with its core classes, Studio3Music offers a variety of other services, including $5 open play classes, a venue for birthday parties, Parents’ Night Out programs, and a Symphony Serenade concert series. Ask Reichlin, Butler and Fetty about their thriving program – which now has 12 satellite locations in the greater Seattle area – and they are bound to tell you: it’s music to their ears.
