Seattle’s super popular 17th of May celebration (a.k.a. Syttende Mai) is one not to be missed! Enjoy a day-long festival of music and dance, kids’ activities, a luncheon featuring a Norwegian dignitary, and of course, the annual parade that starts down a mile-long stretch of Ballard. Leif Erikson Lodge
Admission: $35 per person (pre-purchase)
Tickets available at Leif Erikson Lodge.
Enjoy a traditional Norwegian lunch with the parade’s Grand Marshal and Honorary Marshals and special guest entertainment!

Barneleker (Children’s activities)
10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Nordic Heritage Museum
Children can enjoy easy craft projects at the Nordic Heritage Museum and pet the fjord horses. The crafts are free and children must be accompanied by an adult. Bonus: Admission will be FREE at the Nordic Heritage Museum during their hours.

Nordic Café
3 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Leif Erikson Lodge
Free Museum admission all day! Enjoy Scandinavian food and beverages available for purchase.

Entertainment at Bergen Place
noon-6 p.m.
Intersection of Market Street & Leary Avenue and 22nd Avenue
On parade day, there are public performances at Bergen Place featuring a number of acts with Nordic flair!
