Even though summer is starting to wind down, there’s still plenty of fun to be had around the Emerald City. On our weekend roundup: a wet and wild event at Green Lake, a festival for train fanatics, a party with hundreds of hounds and a back-to-school fundraiser with plenty of kids’ activities. Windermere Summer Splash at Green Lake (pictured)
This free community event (now in its fourth year!) will be jam-packed with family fun. Enjoy live entertainment, kid-friendly activities, food booths, free giveaways and the opportunity to try your hands at canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. There will also be a Corporate Cup Regatta that will set 12 Seattle companies against one another for the chance to take home the Corporate Cup trophy. Sat. Event details.

Seattle Parks Big Day of Play
Take the whole fam to the Rainier Community Center for a super fun (and super healthy!) day of play. In addition to obstacle course inflatables, a rock climbing wall and dance presentations and workshops, there will be water sport exhibitions for all ages (think sailing, rowing and stand-up paddle boarding), information booths, guest speakers, healthy food, a Kids Zone and plenty of live music and entertainment. Our Big Neighborhood: Global Playground
Presented by Northwest Folklife and the Seattle Center, Global Playground will feature exciting playground games, hands-on activities, live music and entertainment and interactive dance workshops to get the whole family moving, learning and playing! Sat. Event details.

Snoqualmie Railroad Days
This annual festival, celebrating the spirit and origins of Snoqualmie’s railroad and logging town, will feature train, wagon and railway motor car rides, live entertainment and a car show, plus a model train show, vendor booths and yummy food. Psst! Be sure to catch the Kiddie Parade and Grand Parade on Saturday morning and lots of kids’ activities throughout the weekend. Fri.-Sun. Event details.

Celebrate Woodinville Festival & Parade
Families can expect to find live music, delish food, arts and crafts, a community parade and loads of kids’ activities at this annual celebration in downtown Woodinville. Psst! Don’t miss the annual Basset Bash competition now in its 40th year. Sat. Event details.

9th Annual Pants & More Party
Plan to head to this very special party to assist Eastside Baby Corner in collecting new and gently used clothing to distribute to children in need during the back-to-school season. During the four-hour event, kids can enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo and performances by the Bubbleman and Captain Awesome Sauce, plus complementary treats, face painting and jumping on Springfree Trampolines.
