We’re cruising through July with a supersized dose of family fun. On our radar: a ginormous food fest, a spectacular parade through the streets of West Seattle and a Seafair summer festival with tons of kids’ activities. If you’ve got a family of strawberry lovers, be sure to hit the annual Vashon Island Strawberry Festival. Albert Lee Appliance Bite of Seattle
Bring your appetite and savor “bites” from more than 60 local restaurants at this annual three-day food extravaganza. While you’re there, hit the Family Fun Zone for lots of hands-on activities and enjoy live entertainment on multiple stages, chef demos and tons of food product samples. Fri.-Sun. Event details.

West Seattle Grand Parade 
This annual parade has all the bells and whistles of the Torchlight Parade, but without the crowds and parking chaos. Grab a curbside seat along California Ave. to see marching bands, drill teams and plenty of community floats, plus those wild and crazy Seafair Pirates and Seafair Clowns make their way down the parade route. Chinatown Seafair Parade
Grab a seat on South King St. and settle in for this annual evening parade held in the heart of Chinatown. This year’s parade will feature lion and dragon dances, martial arts, the Seattle Chinese Girls Drill Team, Seafair Pirates and a host of local community groups from the greater Seattle area. Sun. Eastside

North Bend Downtown Block Party
At this community block party, enjoy an action-packed lineup of family entertainment, a fantastic Kid Zone and vendor fair, plus delish food, merchant specials and more. Sat. Event details.

Covington Days Festival
We know this festival isn’t exactly on the Eastside, but it’s too good not to include. At the two-day fest, enjoy arts and crafts, carnival games, inflatables and face painting, plus animal encounters, live entertainment, a watermelon eating contest and an array of delicious food. Psst! Be sure to grab a curbside seat on Saturday morning for the annual parade. Sat.-Sun. Event details.

Parkadilly Kid’s Concert, Fair & Fun
This exciting Seafair community event, hosted by the Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park, will feature the biggest kid’s concert on the Eastside, a petting zoo and trampolines, plus arts and crafts, games, face painting and food trucks to feed your grumbling tummies. Psst! More than 40 kid-centric vendors will also be on hand to share information about schools, after-school activities, health care, children’s products and local non-profits. Sun. Event details.
